Explore your process data

Find signals quickly with a searchable tag browser, including indicators showing which tags have already been added to the chart.

Navigate with pan and zoom, select a rectangular area with Zoom Window, and inspect values using multiple timestamp-anchored X-Traces.

Drag trace lines to investigate another time, reposition information boxes for readability, and use range selections to compare statistics across operating intervals.

Flexible time controls let you lock a duration while changing dates or expand a historical window while keeping its end time.

Turn trends into insight

Add analytical curves directly to your chart:

• Linear regression and average lines

• Rate of change

• Change from the previous value

• Peak-to-peak calculations

• Cumulative integral

• Formula pens combining values from other pens

Configure engineering-unit labels, display conversions, discrete-state labels and separate axes to make results easier to interpret.

Set number formatting individually for each pen, including the values displayed in X-Trace readouts. Rate-of-change and integral calculations support time units in seconds, minutes or hours.

Calculations use the data loaded into the chart and are affected by the selected query resolution and aggregation. They do not modify the original historical data or create additional Ignition tags.

See process states alongside your trends

Display historical String tags as state bands ideal for CIP phases, operating modes and batch descriptions.

Text values are preserved, including labels starting with numbers such as “07 CIP Tank 7”. Inspect the full text through hover and X-Trace readouts.

When String pens share a plot with numeric curves, you can separate them into their own plot for a clearer view.

The last known valid historical state remains visible across the selected time range, even when no new change was recorded during that period.

Compare periods and investigate events

Overlay an earlier period using an offset in minutes, hours, days or weeks.

Display selected Alarm Journal events alongside process curves, with filters for alarm tags, priority and state.

Add annotations to record observations and provide context for later analysis.

Export the information you need

Choose between three distinct exports:

• Displayed data: Export the values represented by the chart.

• Raw history: Export stored historian samples for selected sources and the displayed period, independently of chart resampling, including timestamps and quality information.

• Annotations: Export saved annotation text with its source and timestamps.

Raw-history and annotation exports provide source selection, progress and cancellation controls.

Make the workspace your own

Save named trend configurations and reopen recent setups with personal, project-specific storage for signed-in users.

Configure multiple pens, axes and plots, adjust history-query resolution, and choose your preferred interface language from the More menu.
